The town upon the stream Mikulášovský potok. First mentioned in 14th century in the era of german colonization. The village was advanced to town in the year 1916. The dominat of town is the building of church of St. Nicolas of 1555, rebuilt in the year 1750. It is one of the most interesting buildings of the Šluknov´s area with rare interior. Near the church you can see the former observatory, which was famous all over the Europe. Mikulášovice is the main starting point for trips to mountain Tanečnice with view-tower.
